NADESSTU presents "A Nite at the Cinema" showing the most anticipated movie "Half of a Yellow Sun". The movie is based on the book by our own prominent Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie with the same title as the movie. So beautifully and fearlessly written, Chimamanda was not intimidated by the horrors of the Nigerian-Biafran Civil war but she took the bull by the horn and told us all the effect the war had on the Igbo populace and intellectuals alike.
Biyi Bandele, the movie director, did a wonderful job in putting this book into screen, making it a must watch for every Nigerian students. So that we can fully understand our past, and, therefore, push our future to the right direction.
For those of us that have read the book, you should go and see how Gennieve Nnaji took the role of Miss Adebayo. Then, you should also see the characters like Ugwu, Master Odenigbo (my good man), Olanna, Kainene and Richard.
The venue is at the NDDC Hall by 7:00pm today, Friday 26th September. The gate fee is just #200. And there will be free popcorn and drinks. According to the NADESSTU body, free ticket for the first 20 people. See you there!!!
