With dust yet to settle in a rather frenzy 2015/2016 academic session that has largely kept students busy trying to settle down to the impromptu changes put in place by the school authority and other pressing issues, two females in Kpenu (300level) and Christabel a (400level) both LAW students were busy settling old scores in the female government hostel Wednesday evening.
It was Wednesday evening and female residents on campus were still coming to terms with news that the ban on having refrigerators in hostels which was earlier rumoured to have been relaxed by the school authority will still be holding effect, when suddenly the atmosphere in the female government hostel turned chaotic, one would have mistaken it for a protest by the ladies had it not been for Kpenu’s battered face that surfaced moments later to notify every one of the opposite.
Reports that Campus Echoes gathered had it that the cause of the brawl which left Kpenu with a bruised face, had its roots from the national conference organised by CLASFON during the hols precisely early October in Benue state in which Kpenu and Christable were both roommates. We gathered that during the conference, Kpenu’s money was stolen and her rummy Christabel became prime suspect solely because Christabel after claiming not to have a dime during the conference suddenly or rather say miraculously out of the blue raised money to travel for Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital territory after the conference.
To cement Kpenu’s claim, just before resumption during a colleague’s wedding, a reported case of missing money arose again in one of the rooms in which Christabel also was taking shelter, you call it coincidence? Well for Kpenu that was enough evidence to certify her claim that Christabel surely was the mole who made away with her conference’s cheese.
As it would turn out to be, Kpenu later called Christabel on phone during the said hols demanding for her money. Not getting any reasonable reply, Kpenu then decided to confront Christabel and just this Wednesday, hell’s gate was let loose at female hall B, and who did the fiery flames of hell consume? Kpenu, she received the beating of varieties in slaps, punches and kicking of all types from Christabel which left bruises on her face. Had it not been for the intervention of other hostel residents who felt the show was enough and decided to settle the fight, Kpenu would probably have been in the hospital by now on admission. But thank God all she got was a bruised face to remind her to always act much more decisively in the future.
