In every structured society, government is divided into various arms; the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary arms. In our campus too, we have such arms.
The Student Representative Council (SRC), which functions as the legislative arm of the Student’s Union Government (SUG) held its 1st session for the semester yesterday 5th August, 2014 at Moot Court opposite NDDC hall at the Faculty of Law.

The session actually scheduled for 3pm was delayed for about 45 minutes due to unforeseen circumstances. It had in attendance the honorable Speaker of the house, Francis Ogbudu, the deputy clerk, the chief whip and five other floor members representing various department and factions of the students. Going by the number of attendees to the session, it was clear that a couple of the representatives were absent from the session.
The session, which lasted for two and half hours, deliberated on the passing of the SUG budget (which at the time of filing this report was undisclosed) for the session amongst other issues.
Details and break-down of the approved SUG budget and other deliberations will be communicated in subsequent publications. But one thing that is sure and certain is that the SRC is up and running leaving no stone unturned.
