One hot summer day, a dog was strolling through a forest. He
saw a bunch of oranges ripening high on an orange tree. “Aaah! Just the thing to quench my thirst,” he
said. Backing up a few paces, he took a run and jumped at the oranges, just missing.
Turning around again, he ran faster and jumped
again. Still a miss. Again and
again he jumped, until at last he gave up out of exhaustion. Walking away with his
nose in the air, he said: “I am sure they are sour”. It is easy to despise what
you can’t get.
This has happened to so many students, if not all, when they
started out. Most of us didn’t have the results we desired at our first exam. But
unlike the dog that walked away, most of us didn’t despise the first-class
results (or second-class upper) we desired. Instead we pushed harder, jumped
higher until bit by bit we got the oranges.
So, my friends, because you didn’t get it at this exam doesn’t
mean you can’t get it the next.
Keep jumping!!!
