It isn’t any new information that sometime towards the end
of the month, the school suffered the bereavement of a student to armed robbers.
The late Choke in his capacity was a member of the diploma 2 class and
represented them as a parliamentarian in the Lawsan house. Prior to his death,
he was calm, boisterous and a wonderful individual. In the early hours of Thursday
17th March, the late Chike was in his room with his brother and friend
while surfing the internet before he was attacked by armed robbers who consequently
made swaged goods of his phone and laptop and was eventually still shot. According to
reports, his last moments were tragic as he struggled for his life, shouting
out for help to no response. He was later rushed to the hospital where he gave
up the ghost. At dawn, security agents failed to come to the scene of the crime
which resulted in a riot made up of some students and of which the DDS, Barr.
Okumagba and the deputy registrar later joined. They marched to the palace of
the Odiologbo of Oleh where they were addressed by the Secretary of state. A meeting
was held by HRM,DPO, SSG LG Chairman and the DDS and students; Mac4, NSE
President and Akakabota. HRM assured the students that the government was aware
of the situation and there wasn’t any need to be violent. Troops were ordered to
be on patrol especially in the affected areas. Students are therefore advised to be careful in their dealings Chike will be
immensely missed by his classmates, friends and well-wishers. RIP Chike
