Gratitude is the least of all virtues as ingratitude is the greatest of all vices. This short witty saying in a seemingly perfect way admonishes us to breed a spirit of appreciation. Another expression could be, No man is perfect but give credit to the one that tries. Campus echoes has decided within the realms of its conscience to rather be the leper who comes back grateful. In such spirit, we wish to take time to laud the efforts of a particular student who has according to them I must state been a benevolent and selfless representative of the Delta State University, Oleh campus, Comrade Desmond Orisewezie who is popularly aliased as The Structure, a 400 level law student who in his capacity is the defunct Secretary General of the Student Union Government and presently a political aspirant for the office of the LAWSAN presidency fir the 2015/2016 academic session. I wish to be forgiven if I bye pass Desmond's jovial, chivalrous and ever smiling personality and I dare say his attitude as a relatively controversial figure.
I would speak exclusively on a particular Samaritan favour done us the students . Sequel to the end of last years academic session, the hostels wee closed and at the point of resumption for the new academic year, the hostels were some reason inaccessible to students. This particular saga stretched for a while before remours began to fly that the hostels were to be opened in January which was bad news to the students. We cannot say to what effect that was factual but soon the tables turned and another information was passed to the students that they could begin to pay for their hostels. Trusting the fact that there would always be early birds who came to undergo the process before others, tragedy met with them and they were unable to complete the accommodation process and were eventually stuck on campus without a place to lay their head. Desmond and some other amiable students took it upon themselves to speak with the authority whom afterwards provided accomodation for the students. He also served as an information portal for other students who had not gone through the accommodation process . In the light of the relayed event that some will not see as Herculean, Campus Echoes will like to appreciate Desmond for the favour granted. On behalf of us here at campus echoes. Thank you Desmond and may your approachable and chivalrous demanour cost you a positive twist of fate. More grease to your elbow.
