It's a brand new day! And we thank God for giving yet another day to live and love despite all odd. Yesterday
the 13th of February 2015, the Law Students Association of Nigeria
(LAWSAN), Delta state University, oleh campus election was held and as
we will have it we had those who lost and those that won. The mantle of
the LAWSAN presidency was taken by Christian Ededhor who was without an
opponent so also was the position of the vice president which is now
headed by Gloria. However, people vying for the positions of the LAWSAN
Secretary General, financial Secretary and public relations officer
(P.R.O) went head to head to the polls and Ekiruo Terry, Okpagogo Henry
and Emeniku Paul emerged as secretary general, financial Secretary and
P. R. O respectively.
Recently Campus Echoes has been flooded with news from an interview with NADESSTU aspirant in person of Hon. Anthony Ajokpaghene a man of big influence in the outgoing LAWSAN parliament, don't be surprised he is here again as he will always speak because he cares for the welfare of students on campus. In a brief talk with him he reckoned that it was a fair election and those who lost were as good as the winners because in reality everyone cannot win, he encourage those who lost to walk shoulder high because they gave a good fight, he further encouraged that they should persist and aim higher. Again he added that politics does not provide a platform for battle and hatred but politicians should see their fellows as partners in progress. He went on to congratulate the winners and implore them not to deviate from executing their promises and that they should administer as leaders would.
Well, that's for that, remember also that in a recent interview he had said that candidates should endeavour to eschew bitterness and rancour so instead of being bitter I implore those who lost to shake it off and forge ahead like it never happened and as for the winners I say a big CONGRATS. Let me tell you my own, I am imploring all students to let things of yesterday bygone and let's unite in love for a broom can never be broken unless it's scattered and its sticks are broken one by one!. Show love to someone today, hold someone, whisper a nice word in someone's ear, hug someone, kiss someone! It's valentine and I beg of of you to interprete it right. It's a day when you express your love and not your lust..... Endeavour to show your love not only to your spouse but to your family and friends.
