Campus Echoes can exclusively reveal to the students that the Students’ Week for 2013/2014 session will, barring any last minute change, commence as from Monday 29th of this month, and will run through the week. The date was revealed yesterday by the SUG President, comrade Marshal-Umukoro, during the SUG Executives’ appearance before the SRC.
The SRC, who at the later part yesterday held an open session with observers in attendance, invited the SUG Executives to clarify the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) on very relevant and sensitive issues which include the delay in conducting the Students’ Week giving that exams are here. They were also asked to give account of the financial running of the government and also the implementation of the signed budget.
The Executives who were summoned included the President, the Treasurer and the Financial Secretary of the Students’ Union. Clarifying the house, the President said the Week was expected to have kicked-off this week had it not been for the unpreparedness of the contestants in the Delsu’s Got Talent show and Miss Delsu Oleh pageantry.
Major reasons for the delay could not be clarified, or if they were it couldn’t be ascertained if the problems had been resolved.
From the look of things it all seems that the SRC is not happy with the way the present administration is running the government.
