These are
not good times at all for our IVL girls, absolutely not good at all as they
continue to wallow in darkness owing to the flood that rendered a block of the
hostel inhabitable and left the other rooms in complete darkness. Adapting to
the current situation has really not been easy, and presently no one can
categorically say when the renovation work will be ending but in as much as the
contractor and workers continue to work steadily, one can only hope and pray
that it doesn’t take long.

Echoes, though, decided to see the SUG President to get his response to this
unattractive situation, and he had this to say “I deeply regret the current
predicament been experienced by our own sisters at IVL and I share in their
pain and concern. Although, this is not the time to be throwing blames around
and neither can we say it is God’s making, but it was more like a disregard for
students’ welfare and wellbeing on the contractor’s part, and that I strongly
condemn.”
He also
revealed to us that the SUG body is currently
working all around to ensure that
everything returns to normal and the students are compensated. He finally
advised that everybody should remain calm and patient.
